Examination of the newborn
After birth, the neonatologist will briefly examine the baby directly in the delivery room. Other routine examinations take place in your room – such as blood tests from the heel, hearing screening, or cataract examination. We strive to make all procedures as gentle as possible and to keep the baby with you as much as possible.
The examinations in the room minimize any separation and also allow parents to be with the child at all times. This supports a calmer adaptation for the baby and greater assurance for the parents.
Feel free to ask about the examination process. If you wish to be present for all procedures, please inform the staff – we will be happy to accommodate you. You also have the right to refuse certain examinations; in such cases, it is necessary to sign a waiver.
