Support with breastfeeding issues
If breastfeeding does not go as planned right away, we are here for you. A nurse will help you with each attachment as you work together to find the right technique and position. If necessary, we will temporarily support lactation through pumping, so that milk production is maintained and gradually stabilized.
Most of our neonatal nurses and doctors are trained in lactation consulting, so you can rely on truly expert support. We would be happy to stay in contact with you even after discharge – we are ready to help you at home if any difficulties or uncertainties arise.
This approach reduces stress, helps to quickly find a functional way to feed, and ensures that the baby is thriving. Problems with breastfeeding are common and often temporary – you are not alone in this.
We recommend short and frequent attachments, skin-to-skin contact, plenty of fluids, and as much rest as possible. Even small steps can bring great relief. And whenever you are unsure, reach out – we are here to support you.
