Breastfeeding support
We begin support for breastfeeding right in the delivery room. In the postpartum ward, we continue with individual guidance – we will help you find a suitable position, demonstrate the correct technique, and assist with attaching the baby. Each mother and child is different, and that’s why we always dedicate personal attention to you.
Good attachment from the start reduces the risk of nipple injuries, supports stable milk production, and leads to a happier baby. A proper start to breastfeeding often significantly affects comfort in the following days and weeks.
Try different positions – for example, "laid-back" or the so-called football hold. If something hurts or you are unsure, reach out immediately. It is perfectly fine to need help. Write down any questions that come to mind, and consider contacting a lactation consultant after discharge – they can be a great support in the first weeks at home.
