When to go to the maternity hospital
You need to go to the maternity ward in situations that may indicate the start of labor or require an immediate health check for both the mother and the baby. Come if:
you have regular contractions that are intensifying and last at least 2 hours with intervals shorter than 10 minutes,
the amniotic fluid leaks (if it is clear, come within 4 hours; if it is green or brown, or if you have a positive strep test, go immediately),
you experience bright red bleeding with intensity similar to menstruation – in that case, call 155,
you do not feel the baby's movements, or their frequency changes suddenly and significantly,
you have other acute difficulties, such as fainting, severe vomiting, or diarrhea.
If you are unsure, you can always call our delivery room: +420 495 832 811. It’s better to call twice than once too late.
A timely arrival ensures a safe start to labor – both mother and baby are monitored from the very first moment, and any complications can be addressed without unnecessary delay.
Keep the delivery room's number saved on your phone, have your hospital bag packed by around the 36th week, and your birth plan ready to be handed over. Monitor your contractions and the baby's movements, and if anything is unclear, do not hesitate to call. We are here for you.
