I can only recommend the maternity ward, I have given birth here twice and was satisfied every time.
The course of childbirth
I would like to sincerely thank the entire obstetric team at the Faculty Hospital of Královské Vinohrady.
Especially Dr. Grollová and midwife Vodičková, who guided me through the birth. I felt very good and safe.
I have no doubts about the expertise of Dr. Grollová, plus she is very empathetic and supportive, and it is evident that she loves her work. That is exactly the kind of doctor I wish for every woman during childbirth. She creates a sense of safety and that everything will go well.
I gave birth to my first child at a different facility with extensive injuries and complications for both of us. Of course, there were more aspects and the care here was also very good, but I was very worried about how I would manage the second birth. Dr. Grollová gave me the courage during the consultations, assessed everything carefully medically, and recommended a natural birth.
On the day of labor induction, everything went beautifully and very quickly. I joked that we would be done by lunchtime, and indeed at 12:17, we welcomed a healthy, beautiful baby girl without complications.
Stay during the postpartum period
Everything went smoothly, without pressure and with respect for my wish to be as much as possible with the newborn.
The care during the postpartum period is very good, everything is interconnected. The pediatricians are also great, and that is very important as well. I mentioned the positioning of the baby's legs, and on the second day in the morning, the rehabilitation team came and showed me a simple stretching exercise and reassured me that everything would be fine.
I myself have already scheduled an appointment at a specialized clinic, where I believe they will help me with issues from my first delivery. It is also a beautiful and pleasant environment here. The food is also very good.
Overall rating of the maternity hospital
Everything went smoothly. I gave birth at night and alone, so the staff could dedicate 100% of their attention to me. A midwife who was training was present, she was very nice, communicative, and guided me well through the birth.
Compared to the year 2023, there has been a significant reduction in materials for the baby - only a few diapers, and one changing mat. In the room, this year (2025) there is baby cosmetics from the brand nobilis tilia available for testing.
The behavior of the healthcare workers was excellent, except for one nurse from the maternity ward, who made remarks that I found inappropriate.
Weighing and supplementing the baby was due to the lactation just starting and also because after three days, the baby wasn't gaining weight. At home, completely without supplementation, only with breast milk.
