Bc. Sabina Drahovzalová
My name is Sabina and I am a midwife specializing in intensive care. I really enjoy my work as a midwife; it fulfills me and is an integral part of my everyday life. I graduated from the Secondary School of Health Studies in Trutnov, where I encountered my first birth during my internships at the hospital. I was absolutely fascinated by what the female body can do. The choice of university was clear – I enrolled at the University of Pardubice, where I successfully completed my studies in midwifery (2020). During my studies, I moved to Prague, which allowed me to get to know several renowned maternity hospitals as part of my practical training. I worked for more than three years as a neonatal nurse at the U Apolináře maternity hospital (2018-2021). Since 2022, I have been working in the delivery room, and the Vinohrady maternity hospital was a clear choice for me because of its personal and respectful approach to women. I had not encountered such an approach to that extent anywhere else until then. During my first year of working here, I completed a specialization study in Intensive Care in Midwifery in Brno. In my work, I place great emphasis on an individualized approach to women during pregnancy and childbirth. My priority is to create a pleasant and supportive atmosphere based on open communication without fear and concerns. I very much enjoy using non-pharmacological methods of pain relief during my work, such as aromatherapy or herbal steam baths. At the same time, I am not opposed to analgesics and epidurals, as every woman has the right to choose her own path through childbirth. I can offer expectant mothers not only an individual prenatal course led by me but also home care.
